Right from school days when experimentation with the interaction of drawing inks was a favourite activity, the resulting random colours and patterns -often dendrytic- have formed a basis for me from which to develop paintings.
I did have quite a long spell, when commissions or more realistic landscape and railway paintings took up much of my time, when I moved away from the technique. In 2003 though, I bought a set of new acrylic drawing inks and this is the first work that emerged from my renewed interest in the possibilities.
